Yes. APS (formerly Forge) viewer implementation is a core BimEx practice. We build production browser viewers on Autodesk Platform Services so stakeholders can inspect Revit, Navisworks, DWG, and related models without desktop BIM seats. Engagements typically cover Model Derivative pipelines, branded viewer UX, authentication, optional digital twin / configurator / IoT modules, and handoff into your Autodesk account and hosting. Models usually stay in your own APS buckets under your control.

Choose a custom IFC (openBIM) viewer when IFC is already your delivery standard, when stakeholders use mixed authoring tools, or when you want branded viewing without depending on an Autodesk-only cloud pipeline. Choose APS when your workflow centers on native Revit, Navisworks, or DWG and you need Autodesk’s Model Derivative translation in the browser. For APS projects we work with formats Autodesk’s Model Derivative service translates, including Revit (.rvt), Navisworks, DWG, and IFC. Custom openBIM viewers are built around IFC2x3 and IFC4. The free IFC viewer on this site opens IFC files only—export native Revit models to IFC first. Indoor modeling handoffs are typically Revit plus IFC so the same geometry feeds either viewer path. We confirm your exact files, linked models, and export settings during discovery because those choices affect translation quality and load performance.

Model data stays in the accounts and infrastructure agreed for your project—typically your own APS buckets or cloud environment—not a shared BimEx tenancy by default. We scope access, retention, and handoff during discovery and can work under your NDA and security requirements before reviewing files. At delivery you receive the viewer source, configuration, and documentation agreed in scope so your team owns ongoing access control. We do not invent star ratings, review counts, or local office addresses in marketing or schema.
